Planning a Future Plan
Hello Graduates and Bloggers,
To those of you who don’t already know, I am graduating from OSU this semester and I’m really excited. After graduation I am planning on returning home to Kuwait and trying like the rest of you to find a job and to establish myself in the work field. So I wanted to share with you some of the things I am planning on doing when I return to Kuwait.
First of all, like the rest of OSU graduates I am going to look for a job. My father, who is thankfully networking for me as we speak, will help me with that task and try to set up a few interviews for me, so I will be pretty busy the first few months that I am back. That is good because one of my worries about returning home after all this time is the fact that I will not be able to keep my mind active and thinking like it is always here.
Secondly, I want to become an active member in the Kuwaiti community and I want to be an active woman in my society. I have a lot of ideas for community programs that I think Kuwait could use. For example, kuwaiti society does not delve into the issue of sexual relations between men and women because it is against our religion. Yet these days, it seems that everyone in Kuwait is having sex and the age is getting younger and younger every year. People know about it but they turn a blind eye to the issue, and hope that their children are not involved in such practices. Well I don’t think that silence is the right answer. I want to develop programs that will help both parents and teenagers have more awareness about the health risks that can be involved with sex and not practicing it safely. I mean if you are gonna do it regardless of religious beliefs, then at least do it right and do it safe. Right?
I also want to develop a hotline that is dedicated to talking to teenagers who are having sex but are too afraid to talk about it. This hotline will talk to people, give them advice, help girls who might think that they are pregnant and do not know what to do and other issues of that nature. But before I can do all that, I have to first conduct a sex study in Kuwait that talks openly about sexual relations between men and women and even men and men and women and women.
The third thing that I want to do is to have my ads all over Kuwait city billboards. I hope that I will be able to work in an agency or somewhere where I will be able to be creative and productive and not just get stuck with a load of paper work.
This is just a preview of some of the things that I want to do in Kuwait and some of the plans I want to get accomplished.
Wish me luck on my endeavors because as you can see, I have a lot of work a head of me.
Sincerely,
Dalal
