Fresh Produce

Yes, I decided to shoot some corn. I shot this in the studio at my internship. The guy I interned for would give me lunch money, I often used my lunch money to buy things to shoot.

I wanted this image to look like it was shot outside on pieces of wood. I arranged the corn until I liked the composition. I then placed an amber-colored gel over my flood light to give the corn a little bit of warmth. Then, I placed a “cookie” over the gel. A “cookie” is a piece of board that has all sorts of different patterns, shapes and sizes so that it looks like a giant cookie cutter. This helped scatter the light over the corn.

I shot this with a 4X5 digital format camera and took me about two hours to shoot.
