Portrait of Andrea

I shot this photograph at the Metro Diner in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I met this girl at my old school and I thought she had a unique style. She dressed as if she came straight out of the 50s, her jet black hair and pale skin really complimented this photo. Andrea was a very shy and quiet girl, it took me a while to get her to come out of her shell.

I shot this inside of a diner and placed her next to a large window. I also added an electronic light to the opposite side of the window, this helped bounce light back into her face and give her eyes more life. This was a fun shoot and I had a lot of freedom to be creative. The big challenge was making sure not to get in anyone’s way. Although I shot this after the lunch rush, I still had to respect the employees.

I shot this with a Hasselblad medium format camera and Fuji 100 speed chrome film.
