Reflecting Images
I wanted to do something more “artsy” with this image. I mainly shot this image for fun. It was still a bit of a challenge for me because glass is very reflective and difficult to light. I wanted the composition to be very simple and classy.
Cropping the image and not showing all of the glasses allows the eye to focus on the main blue glass. The glass with the blue liquid in it has just water and food coloring. I used a piece of silver wrapping paper for the platform. There is a silver scrim behind the glasses with a light behind the scrim. I only used one light for this shoot. I had to keep the studio completely dark with just this one light on to eliminate any other source that could be seen in the wine glasses.
I shot this with a Hasselblad medium format camera; I used Fugi 100 speed chrome film.
