I always hate this question…

What’s your favorite band?

Ahh, it’s like nails on a chalk board.  I could not possibly name only ONE favorite band.  I am a lover of all types of music spreading across numberous genres and decades of influences.  Now if you asked me to name only a few of my favorites that is something I could do.  Though every time I answer the later, I feel like I am short changing myself, or the bands that I love but did not get to mention.  I always feel I am not giving enough spot light to all the other wonderful bands I forgot to mention.

No, I don’t like EVERYTHING, as a lot of people say.  However, I do like a little bit of almost everything.  I could love one song by one artist but hate the rest of their songs and the genre they sing in.  For example, Sarah Brighton, her remake of Scarborough Fair is beautiful, the rest of it? ZZzzzZZZzzz

So anyways, this is the reason why I have been organizing the blogs like I have, with a ‘what I am listening to right now’ blog or ‘check out this band’, it just seems easier and more practical.

Alright, that is all… have a good day

The Engine Hearts

Thursday, April 27th, 2006

Like the Ramones? Like dirty punk music? Like your music raw and not over produced?

Then you will probably like The Engine Hearts. I could try to describe them further but feel it might be a lost cause. So here you go, straight from the mouth of the beast:

The Engine Hearts are a rock band. We’re from Tulsa, OK. We play indie/punk/rock and roll in the vein of The Replacements, Archers Of Loaf, Dinosaur JR, blah, blah. Basically, we’re a little sloppy, very energetic, and would like to think we’re a lot of fun. But that’s for you to decide.

Anyway, I suggest you give them a listen asap!

Here is a link to a post I just put up on my Myspace profile.

It’s Imogen Heap’s Hide and Seek video.  Great song, but don’t listen if you are going through a break up, you have been warned ;)

Mute Math

My new obsession is called Mute Math

The singer sounds like an exact replica of Sting…. so think: The Police meets Postal Service meets Alternative Rock

Anyways, they are wonderful! Check them out, and listen to ‘Noticed’ if you do :)
