You must go! I wrote a post about Upside last week so check it out to learn a little bit and hear some of their music. Great band, great guys, great music equals a great night!! See you there!!

Good Times Indeed…

Tuesday, April 25th, 2006

So the show on Saturday went well.  Besides the mixup with set times which had each band start 30 minutes earlier than planned, it was a great rock show.  They made it all ages, therefor the bands had to be done by midnight.  This would have been fine except for the fact that there were five bands.  So figure in a 30-45 minute set for each with about 20 minutes between bands and that is an EARLY start compared to the normal 9 or 10 pm.

But, like I said it was fun.  I got to see a ton of people that I hadn’t seen in ages which is always good.  It was also Matt Slider’s birthday (singer for the feds) which I had completely forgotten about so the after party was one to be remembered.  They had it at a wine bar called Vintage on 18th and Boston.  They let the bands and friends stay after close and celebrate all night.  My friend Matt and I ended up leaving around 3 am to return to Stillwater so we could let his dog out (boo).

Now I’m just ready for Saturday when Upside plays here!!

And I danced the night away…

Sunday, April 2nd, 2006

I went to Clear Static and Shiny Toy Guns in Tulsa on Friday night. Can I just say one word? Amazing. I strayed from my normal shows of heavy metal and singer-song writer shows where you are either standing and swaying or drinking and head banging. I got to dance all night in a crowd of people all doing the same. It was like when you jam out in your room because you know nobody is looking only you are doing it in front of at least one hundred people. But since you all look rediculous it just doesn’t matter! Oh I want to go back. Yup, Amazing.

The Valentines

roseNeed something to do Saturday night???

Go see The Valentines at Eskimo Joe’s!!!

This band from Dallas has influences that range from the Stones to the Pixies and have a sound that is unique from the “Radio-Rock” bands running rampant on the streets today.

Bring a date, a friend, or even go by yourself. This is a band that will bring you a good time while drinking a beer and dancing on your feet or sitting at a table and soaking in the scene. Either way they are wildly entertaining and definitally not one you want to miss!

Besides, how appropriate is the name considering the holiday that is right around the corner???
