My MySpace Site

April 24th, 2006

After much deliberation I have decided to post my myspace site. Go ahead a check it out if you want. You can leave comments on here and let me know if you like it or not. I have been on the site for about two or three years and have spent a VERY long time developing it. Feel free to leave me cricisms on how I can make it better. Let me know if it gives you any trouble loading or anything of the such. If you want to veiw my blogs or my pictures you have to be a member, same with if you want to leave me a comment on my page.

**warning**

I do have a few pictures posted that I don’t know if they meet school guidelines but oh well. The pictures were done for art and done by a professional and very well noted artist in Dallas. (You can check him out at his MYSPACE SITE or his WEBSITE) So if I get in trouble, then I get in trouble. They will get over it.

Here you go:

They got signed!!

Yup the rumor has been comfirmed.  As of yesterday Fair to Midland (check previous entry to listen to them) has officially signed with Universal records for a double record deal!  Woo hoo!!

Greatness in Tragedy

This one’s a real crowd pleaser. And, yes, another dallas band. GIT does not label themselves as a christian band but after hearing their music you can tell where their inspirations come from.

Kirk, the singer, has a voice that is smooth and powerful and has the ability to yank emotion right out of you. Their music, along with how Kirk delivers it, is emotionally charged and leaves the audience chanting for more show after show. The most incredible thing about them, to me, is their ability to reach their audience. After attending several shows it is obvious how much their fans love them. It is apparent in the way that they sing every word to every song, often times nearly drowning Kirk out.

Want to check them out live??? See them THIS SATURDAY at the Hive in Tulsa!!! I will be there :)

Fair to Midland

April 20th, 2006

Yes, another Dallas band (can you tell where my allegance lies) but they will be known nation wide soon. The lead singer of System of a Down even got wind of them and was so impressed that he signed them to his own label-> SerjicalStrikeLogo.gif!!! He is now shoping them around to various labels and rumor has it the they will soon have a two record deal with Universal Records (most artists only get 1)! But you didn’t hear it from me ;)

This amazingly talented band can’t really be put into a single category. Have you ever heard of Mars Volta? Well think of them along those lines if you have. If you haven’t, and if that’s the case you need to check them out asap, then think of FTM as rock meets metal meets irish folk on crack. This description may make you turn the other way and run but don’t. Words cannot do this band justice, you simply must hear them. If at all possible see them live (which you can do Saturday at the Hive in Tulsa). Andrew, the singer, has a way of turning the stage into a dramatic play. Its like watching the opera where the lead character is being thrown across stage and getting the life beat out of him. Seem a tad bit dramatic? Maybe, but it makes their performance that much more enrapturing. It is impossible to take your eyes off of them from begining to end, regardless if you love or hate their music.

They are also one of those bands where hearing their cd without seeing them live won’t hit you nearly as hard as after you have experienced their show. And it really is an experience.

Andrew

Fun Fact: This modest group of boys don’t think that they are all that great, and named themselves as such. Hence the title Fair to Midland which means only average. Yeah right, this band is anything but average!

Ryan Adams

WHAT I AM LISTENING TO RIGTH NOW:

Ryan Adams - Heart Breaker

Ryan Adams is one of my favorite artists, and it’s RYAN not BRIAN… He might beat you up if you say the wrong name… Believe me, he’s done it before and I have witness “the temper” first hand on more than one occasion!
