It is that time of year, wedding season! Time for tons of weddings and bridal showers. I was at a bridal shower last week and a girl said she had nine weddings to go to this summer. That is crazy! Weddings can be expensive for the bride and her family and for guests. Friends and family members are invited to all the showers and the wedding. Are people expected to buy a gift for every shower they are invited to? I was invited to two showers for one of my friends. I bought gifts for both of them. I was looking online at The Knot and they had an etiquette question about this very subject. The advice columnist, Carley said that you are not required to bring a gift to all of the showers. The bride probably does not expect her guests to spend a fortune on her and her future husband. If you want to buy a present for all the showers, then pick a budget and then divide the budget among all the showers. Try to buy nice things that aren’t as costly, so that way you can have a gift at every shower or go in with people for a bigger registry item.

Monogramming everything is a new trend for weddings.  Everything from cake toppers to linens are being monogrammed with the couple’s initials.  In the past towels have always been monogrammed, but lately everything is being monogrammed.  Many bridesmaid’s gifts and groomsmen’s gifts are also being monogrammed.  From tote bags to bracelets to money clips.  Monogramming personalizes the wedding and gifts. 

I am from Elgin, Oklahoma. Which is in the southwest part of the state. I am a junior studying public relations. I have an internship with the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets doing game operations, which is basically all the entertainment aspects of games. It is so much fun! I would love to work for an NBA team one day.

I am president of my sorority, Alpha Chi Omega. Alpha Chi and my internship keep me pretty busy! My life basically revolves around the two. I recently got engaged to my high school sweetheart and will be getting married in May or June of 2007.

I have two brothers and one sister and an adorable nephew! He is one of my most favorite people in the whole world! He is three and a half years old and very hyper. He just started preschool and can’t stay out of trouble.

My favorite color is pink. I love grilled shrimp and corn on the cob. I love vacationing by the ocean and eating fresh seafood. My family goes to the ocean every summer. I am currently looking for an internship with some public relations department in Oklahoma City or Dallas.
