Oklahomans Are Getting Truly Inked

I picked up a copy of the Daily Oklahoman yesterday, which is rare because I already had toliet paper. One of the stories caught my eye.

As some of you may know, giving tattoos is illegal in Oklahoma. Oklahoma is unique because it is the only state in the union that bans the giving of tattoos.

I Disagree With What You’re Saying, But . . .

Last November, my mom threw a Bunko party where her and a bunch of friends sat around the house and drank. This is not an evening that I, nor my sisters or dad wanted to be around for.

We went to an Italian restaurant on the north side of Oklahoma City for dinner. My dad and I became engrossed in conversation and, for what was probably the first time ever, we agreed on something.

My dad is a conservative, gun owning, war supporter. I’m an almost communist, secular humanist pacifist. So what could we possibly agree on?

Please Pass the Custard Tort. . . .or Not!

Governor Henry recently delivered his State of the State address to the Oklahoma legislature. He discussed ways that he hoped to improve the state. And does it need it!

Among the areas chosen for improvement were roads and bridges, education and health care. These seems like good places to start. A little broad, but definitely in need of some attention.
