Governor Henry recently delivered his State of the State address to the Oklahoma legislature. He discussed ways that he hoped to improve the state. And does it need it!
Among the areas chosen for improvement were roads and bridges, education and health care. These seems like good places to start. A little broad, but definitely in need of some attention.

About a year ago, my family and I were spending a Sunday evening at a Mexican restaurant in Muskogee, about an hour from our lake house in Eufaula.
I am not going to say which one. I don’t want to give them any negative publicity. That, and I don’t remember what the name of it was.
This was a special occasion because we usually don’t spend Sunday night away from our home in central Oklahoma.

The new year has already set in. January is amost over and the dreaded Valentine’s Day is about to sweep the country.
But whether you’ll be spending Valentine’s Day in the loving arms of your sweetie or pathetically sobbing yourself to sleep while shoving candy hearts down your throat secretly hoping you’ll accidently choke to death on your own miserable loneliness, you’ll probably include an alcoholic beverage or two, or fifteen into your V-Day activities.

Are you getting fed up with walking out of your trailor house every morning on your way to your job as a wage slave at the burger place and getting a mouth full of red dirt?
I know I am!
Are you getting sick and tired of all those fancy city slickers on the coasts referring to our mediocre utopia as a “fly-over state”?
