8th and Ocean

March 23rd, 2006

I recently had the chance to see the new MTV show 8th and Ocean. The plot of the show is basically about the competitive modeling world and how superficial that industry is. My take on the show was that is is alright but it portrays the models as annoying and cocky. There are twin teenage girls on the show, Kelly and Sabrina, and they are very competitive with one another. Kelly gets more of the castings because she photographs better and Sabrina has bad skin problems. The only model on the show that seems somewhat down-to -earth is Britt. She was homeschooled most of her life and seems to be the only nice one. I don’t know if I would recommend watching this show.

The Real World

March 23rd, 2006

The March 21st episode of the Real World wasn’t all that entertaining. Zach makes a new lady friend, Crystal, and invites her over to go fishing with him. Svetlana gets jealous and starts whining about him bringing people she doesn’t know into the house. Throughout the episode, Svetlana keeps griping about her boyfriend and fighting with him on the phone. She flirts with John a lot but nothing ends up happening. At the end of the episode they talk about how things would be if she were single. John tells her that he isn’t seeking anything serious like a relationship, and she tells him she is a “creature of attachment.” This make it seem like things could never work between them.

Tune in on Tuesday night at 9 p.m. on MTV to see next weeks episode.

Project Runway Winner

March 21st, 2006

On the season finale of Project Runway, three finalist go to fashion week in New York City. The last three remaining are Daniel, Santino and Chloe. Daniel’s fashion line had a lot of browns and muted colors and the judges weren’t very impressed with many of his clothes, but they think he has a lot of talent. He is the youngest person competing and since he is only 24 he still has a lot of time to make it in the fashion world. Chloe has a lot of creative and unique dresses and one pant suit that fit the models perfectly and look great. Santino also has a lot of gorgeous dresses but they aren’t as creative as previous work he has done on the show, and seemed to just be playing it safe.

In the end Chloe wins, and I think she really earned it.

The Bachelor

January 25th, 2006

The Bachelor- The third episode of The Bachelor aired this Monday at 9 p.m. central on ABC, narrowing the women down to six. For those of you who have not seen the show yet, the bachelor is Travis Stork a devastatingly handsome ER doctor who gets to choose from 25 beautiful women in the most romantic city in the world, Paris, France.

At the start of the third episode there are only eight women left and Travis can only give out five roses. Two of Travis’s best friends, who are also doctors, come to visit the chateau the women are staying at to find out who will get to go out on what date. They ask the women questions about the human anatomy and about engagement rings to see how each of them respond to stressful situations.

The first date goes to Susan, but on the individual dates Travis has the option of giving her a rose or sending her back to the United States. Sarah B. gets jealous that she doesn’t get to have a one on one date but feels confident that Travis will save his first kiss in Paris for her. Travis and Susan are given a map and a tiny European car and are supposed to find a Cafe located next to the Paris Opera house. It takes them three hours driving in the pouring rain until they finally arrive to have a romantic dinner. The two cuddle and make conversation and end up kissing during the date. Travis gives Susan a rose and she excitedly accepts.

While Susan and Travis are on their date the women are back at the manor questioning Susan’s motives for being there. They discuss how she wants to become an actress and think she has come on the show to help her career. I personally think the women feel threatened by Susan and are a little jealous of her.

The next date is a group date for Tara, Sarah S., Moana, Jehan, and Shiloh. They all get to stay on an extremely large yacht in the French Riveria. They all hang out, swim and eat on the deck. Moana makes the rest of the four girls angry when she steals Travis away on a jet ski. When they come back they get ready and go out to a casino. The next morning Moana brings Travis coffee in bed and ends up cuddling with him, which once again makes the rest of the girls angry. But I guess her aggressive behavior worked because she ended up getting the rose for the group date.

The last date was a two-on-one date with Sarah B. and Jennifer. But the catch about this date is one of the girls has to go home. Travis takes the women camping to show them more of what hes about. He shows Jennifer how to whittle because it is her first time camping. Soon after he gives Sarah B. the rose despite her jealous behavior and sends Jennifer home, saying that they just didn’t have a connection. Jennifer cries and is confused but once she leaves Sarah and Travis make out by the camp fire.

At the rose ceremony Travis gives roses to Jehan Tara and Sarah S. and Shiloh goes home hoping that he will not end up with Moana.

Next week: Six women remain, and two individual dates are up for grabs. Tune in to see what happens when two previous Bachelorettes return to help the Bachelor make his decision!

I am not sure what I want this site to be about but I think I am going to write about television programs that I am interested in. I will give weekly commentaries on specific shows and I will also give previews of upcoming shows and specials. The O.C. is one of my favorites!
