The Olympics!
I know this isn’t a television show but the Olympics are going on right now and I wanted to write about my favorite event, which is women’s figure skating. Sasha Cohen is my favorite and I really hope she wins the gold this time around. Four years ago Sasha Cohen fell on one of her jumps in an otherwise perfect performance, making Sarah Hughs (also on team USA) win the gold. I really hope that this time Sasha can get everything together and go for the gold.
Tuesday night on NBC the ladies competed in the short program and the top 5 ranking women include:
1. Sasha Cohen (USA)
2. Irina Slutskaya (Russia)
3. Arakawa Shizuka (Japan)
4. Fumie Suguri (Japan)
5. Kimmie Meissner (USA)
The American women seem to be doing very well considering Meissner who is in fifth place is only sixteen years old. 2002 Winter Olympic gold medalist Sarah Hughs’ little sister, Emily Hughs is competing and is not far behind in seventh place.
Thursday night on NBC at 7 p.m. Central the Ladies Figure Skating long program will be shown so tune in to see who wins!
