Women’s Figure Skating Results
The Winter Olympics
I was very saddened to see that Sasha Cohen didn’t end up with the gold, after being in first place after the short program. For those of you who were unable to watch the program the results are as follows:
1.) Shizuka Arakawa (Japan)
2.) Sasha Cohen (USA)
3.) Irina Slutskaya (Russia)
The young American girls, Kimmie Meissner and Emily Hughes, finished in sixth and seventh place.
Cohen fell early on in her program on her first jump and stumbled on her second, and finished with an otherwise excellent performance. Slutskaya also fell, and was dissappointed with the way she performed. Shizuka was the 2004 World Champion and skated beautifully.
