Summer Movies

Monday, April 10th, 2006

sun.jpgDuring the summer there are some big movies coming out that people will be waiting to see. This summer there will be a large number of sequels to be released. I am looking forward to some of these sequels. I will also be looking forward to seeing a few of the new movies.

The sequel I am looking forward to most is Clerks II. This is the sequel to Kevin Smith’s low budget independent film Clerks. Clerks has had a huge following. The movie had a cartoon made based on it a few years later. This 1994 movie was an amazing comedy. I will be waiting for Clerks II to be released on August 18 2006.
Another sequel I will be waiting for is Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest. It should be released in early July. The third Mission Impossible movie will be released in May. This is not one that I am excited about, but I am sure there are many that will be.

Carmike Continued

tickets2.JPGI thought that I would give an update about Carmike Cinema. It has been around three weeks since I sent an e-mail to Carmike Cinema. I sent the e-mail asking why there are many movies that never reach the Stillwater location. The night I sent the e-mail I received a conformation later that my question had been received. It also stated that I would receive an answer in three to five days. It has been about three weeks since I sent the e-mail and I have not received an answer. I doubt that I will ever get an answer from Carmike. I have not been able to find out why I was unable to see the Oscar Nominated movie, Good Night, and Good Luck. I will just wait until it is released on DVD before I see the movie.

tickets2.JPGThis weekend my husband and I decided we wanted to see a movie at the Carmike Cinema in Stillwater. At first we were thinking about seeing the new Harrison Ford movie, Firewall. The first thing we decided to do was check the movie showing times at the Carmike Website. After we decided on a time to go see a movie we thought we would check to see how Rotten Tomatoes, a movie rating Website, reviewed the movie. We were disappointed to see that Firewall received a 19 percent out of 100 percent. This is when we decided to see something different.

Date or No Date

Thursday, February 9th, 2006

cupid.jpgValentine’s Day is approaching so I thought I would take a moment to talk about the best movie rentals for this day. For those guys that would like to portray the sensitive caring type I recommend renting Sabrina. This will really impress your date if you can sit through the entire movie. Now there are two choices for this movie. The 1954 version starred Audrey Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart. If you are not a Bogy fan, you can always go for the Harrison Ford version. This 1995 version also stars Julia Ormond as Sabrina. Both versions of this movie are excellent. It is actually surprising that a remake of an Audrey Hepburn movie is first-rate. The two movies are completely “chic flicks.” This is just a warning for the guys that might have to sit through either one.
