Homecoming.
What can be said about Oklahoma State Homecoming? From an outside point of view, our homecoming can be seen as a waste of time and money. The house decorations are extremely expensive and can only be up for a short amount of time, an entire weekend. Personally, I believe homecoming is bigger than any of the house decorations. It is a time for alumni, who are scattered across the nation, to come back to Stillwater to be reunited with a place they once called home.
For two consecutive years, I served as my fraternity’s homecoming director. It was one of the most demanding and stressful things I have ever undertaken. This was more stressful than being the vice president of the Greek system and running Camp Cowboy as an executive director. It is extremely difficult for me just to explain in words how much time and energy is put into these decs.
Throughout this semester, I will post updates of what is going on with the current homecoming world. I will also walk you step by step how the decs are constructed from start to finish. Finally, I will share the good and bad times through my experiences as a director.
