First Person Shooters 2005

There was a ridiculus amount of quality Shooters this past year so it was tough narrowing it down.

Best First Person Shooter of 2005:

F.E.A.R. - First Encounter Assault Recon. This game rocked my freakin socks off. The game centers around you blasting your way through mind-controlled military cloned soldiers, a cannibal general, and a freaky as hell ghost of a little girl raising hell. Excellent use of sound and innovative gameplay mechanics makes this title frightening and intense. The game is created in a way to force the player to play through it slowly, which enhances the game’s mood. Trust me though…this game does not feel slow in pace. (9.4/10)

Runners-Up:

Call of Duty 2 (8.9/10), Battlefield 2 (8.6/10), SWAT 4 (8.5/10)

Worst First Person Shooter of 2005:

Pariah - With regards to a game that had my hopes high and totally disappointed me, this game takes the cake. Point, shoot, repeat. Basics of this game. It had absolutely no story and the mechanics were very dated. With games like F.E.A.R., Quake 4, Call of Duty 2, and Battlefield 2 out there this game should’nt even be on anybody’s radar. (4.5/10)

Runner-Up:

Area 51 (4.6/10)

Best First Person Shooter of 2005 Nobody Played:

Serious Sam 2 - Sales show that nobody bought this gem of a shooter. The most innovative and cooky levels and enemies ever designed for a shooter and very few experienced it. Fast paced gameplay makes the “twitch” gamers very happy. (8.0/10)
