Tomb Raider: Legend

Who isn’t a fan of Lara Croft? The very first action game in history which featured a female lead character, who was the fantasy of every nerdy techno geek out there. Like a hot female Indiana Jones, Lara Croft has raided tombs throughout the course of 6 games, and her 7th seems to be most promising indeed.

I’m sure I won’t be the first to say that the series has pretty much gone downhill after the second game and officially bottomed out and tanked to the bottom of the crap heap with it’s most recent release, Angel of Darkness, but I can’t help but think that Eidos has gotten the formula right this time with TR: Legend.

The graphics look amazing and Lara Croft’s physicality still defies even the most gifted of plastic surgeons. Lara’s body now contains twice as many polygons as it did in Angel of Darkness.
The story will lead Lara to the Himalayas, where a deeper, more personal part of Lara’s story is revealed. If you have followed the series, you’d know that a part of her story, the part that made Lara Croft who she is today, takes place in the Himalayas. So that should be interesting.

Also, unlike the other games, when you beat a level, you’ll see a stat screen to see how you did, but also to upgrade weapons, unlock several vaults worth of unlockables, including many alternative costumes and neat-o items.

I will be ever worrrysome of the potential pitfalls this game could thrust itself into, but Eidos has convinced me so far that the game is in good hands.
