VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE!!! FOOD DRIVE

Thursday, March 23rd, 2006

I know I usually write about restaurants and what their food tastes like, but today I want to touch on a different note. In my strategies class, we were assigned a group project: to put together a charity event for a non-profit organization here in Stillwater. My group chose to work with Action Inc. Action Inc. is an organization that helps people in need. They have a emergency crisis center that gives out food every 90 days and they also give money to keep utilities from getting shut off. They help people who are barely scraping by and sometimes need that little extra. They help single-parent families; women coming out of domestic violence situations and many others who are struggling to get by.

Carl’s Jr. needs a lesson in service

Tuesday, March 21st, 2006

Cole and I stopped at Carl’s Jr. to get a quick bite to eat before class and let’s just say that was a bad idea. There were 2 other people there who had already recieved their food, no one was at the drive thru and no one was in line in front of or behind us, and yet it took them over 15 minutes to get our food out to us. It’s called fast food for a reason. I ordered the bacon swiss ranch chicken sandwich and Cole had the double western burger. I know it doesn’t take 15 minutes to cook the chicken or the “hamburger meat” so I am not sure exactly what took so long. I don’t think my chicken was cooked all the way anyway. I only ate half of it because it just didn’t taste right and I’m pretty sure when I got to the middle it wasn’t fully cooked, and I was not going to risk getting food poisoning.
Needless to say I don’t recommend eating at Carl’s Jr. on Perkins Rd.
The employees weren’t very friendly and they seemed to be too busy visiting with other employees who were off duty and just came up to hang out.
The only thing I can say good about the whole experience is that it seemed pretty clean inside.
