Dessert, Dessert, Dessert

Tuesday, March 21st, 2006

I love dessert! Sometimes I will cook a meal at home and go out to a restaurant just for dessert!

Chili’s has this awesome dessert called the Molten Chocolate Cake!

Applebee’s has two really delicious desserts:

the Maples Butter Blonde

and the Triple Chocolate Meltdown and Trade

dessert2

Or sometimes when we’re broke or to lazy to get out, we’ll just go to McDonalds and get a chocolate covered dip cone!

Chili’s mixed drinks hit the spot!

Tuesday, March 21st, 2006

Chili’s has really good mixed drinks! They may be a little more pricey than at the bar, but it’s not smokey and they have great food to go along with the drinks. If you don’t want a full meal with your after work beverage, may I recommend the bottomless chips and salsa with a side of ranch dressing. The ranch dressing really makes them delicious! My favorite drink is the Jamaican Paradise. Here is what comes in that and a few other drinks I recommend from Chili’s:

Jamaican Paradise
Paradise is a perfect combination of Malibu® Rum, sauza Gold Tequila, Midori, Blue Curacao and sweet & sour

Reggae Sunsplash
A festive blend of Bacardi O® Rum, Grand Marnier, mango, orange juice, sweet & sour and grenadine

Presidente Margarita®
Shake up your day w/our distinctive, hand-shaken Margarita made with Sauza® Conmemorativo Tequila, Cointreau® and Presidente® Brandy.

Carl’s Jr. needs a lesson in service

Tuesday, March 21st, 2006

Cole and I stopped at Carl’s Jr. to get a quick bite to eat before class and let’s just say that was a bad idea. There were 2 other people there who had already recieved their food, no one was at the drive thru and no one was in line in front of or behind us, and yet it took them over 15 minutes to get our food out to us. It’s called fast food for a reason. I ordered the bacon swiss ranch chicken sandwich and Cole had the double western burger. I know it doesn’t take 15 minutes to cook the chicken or the “hamburger meat” so I am not sure exactly what took so long. I don’t think my chicken was cooked all the way anyway. I only ate half of it because it just didn’t taste right and I’m pretty sure when I got to the middle it wasn’t fully cooked, and I was not going to risk getting food poisoning.
Needless to say I don’t recommend eating at Carl’s Jr. on Perkins Rd.
The employees weren’t very friendly and they seemed to be too busy visiting with other employees who were off duty and just came up to hang out.
The only thing I can say good about the whole experience is that it seemed pretty clean inside.

The Pit

Tuesday, March 21st, 2006

The new best place in town to eat is the Pita Pit! I love the pit. I have eaten there more than a dozen times and it has been opened less than a month. They have a variety of pitas, just about any veggie you can think of and plenty of dressings. I have had the chicken pita, the chicken caesar pita, the Philly steak, the black forest ham pita and the club. They even have vegetarian pitas. I haven’t tried one yet because I am a meat lover and anything that is vegetarian just doesn’t seem filling to me. They grill the meat right in front of you and add all the veggies as you tell them what you want. It is kind of set up like Subway.
They also have a smoothie pit on the other side, but I haven’t tried one yet. It wasn’t opened in the beginning and the weather also has been pretty chilly. I have heard they are very good and they have around 10 flavors or you can invent your own.
The pit is really clean and has a very upbeat environment. All of the workers are very friendly and helpful.
The Pita Pit is a little more expensive than say a fast food restaurant but less expensive then an actual restaurant. It is totally worth every penny. The pitas are huge and delicious.
If you haven’t tried the pit you definitely should it is so awesome!

Qdoba

Thursday, February 23rd, 2006

So I ate at Qdoba the other day and I can’t believe I don’t have it on my top 5 list. I may need to revise my list. This wasn’t the first time I’ve eaten there so I can’t believe I forgot about it and left it off of my list. I absolutely looooovvvvveee it! I always get the Queso Burrito w/steak, but I have also had it with chicken and that’s pretty good too. I get mine with out beans b/c I am not a big fan of beans, but that’s me. I also get it with salsa verde. This is the best sause. It adds flavor and a little bit of spice but not too much. Qdoba reminds me of this place I like to eat at when I visit my dad in Oxnard, California, called Taco De Mexico. In comparison Qdoba doesn’t compare, but it is the best thing Oklahoma has to offer.

Johnny’s goes Blue

Thursday, February 9th, 2006

The other day I was skimming through the O’Colly when I noticed there was a new restaurant in town, The Blue Cow, or so I thought it was a new restaurant. My boyfriend and I ventured down to what we thought was going to be a brand new experience; little did we know we were walking into a remodeled Johnny’s Grill. I had only been to Johnny’s once here in Stillwater and it left a bad taste in my mouth. The chicken strips were raw and everything was too expensive. So needless to say when we walked in to Blue Cow and I realized I had been duped I was pretty upset! The menu was pretty much the same. They still had the theta burger and the hickory burger, but no chicken strips! The menu is pretty simple with few options. The prices had dropped, which I was pretty happy about. I also believe they added more desserts; more shakes, malts and ice cream. This go round the food was actually a lot better. I had a regular hamburger with onion rings and my Cole had a blue cheese burger and fries. We both really enjoyed our food, the only complaint we had was the burgers are on the small side. So I suggest ordering yours double-meated!

So if you were a fan of Johnny’s and you were sad to see it go, you’re in luck because it’s still here. It just received a face lift!
