Some of you might wonder what happened to Justin Akers, the infamous Republican, neo-conservative writer with a knack for upsetting readers of The Daily O’Collegian. He quit the paper on Oct. 13 after the opinion editors refused to publish a column without him improving its content – requesting he add facts to his claims rather than “pulling it out of your ass,” the opinion editor wrote. She echoed the demand to all columnists in an e-mail, not singling Akers out. But Akers quit and drunkenly forwarded his response to the staff, rather than the editor only.
Akers: editor in chief a “spine-less coward”
The O’Colly’s editor in chief is a “spine-less coward,” he wrote, and the paper censored his writing based on the complaints of readers in their letters to the editor. He apologizes in another e-mail, blaming the incident on drinking, but stood by his call to quit.On Nov. 1, I post his statements on his weblog. Within hours, he removes the posts. Is Akers censoring?By the grace of G-mail, Akers’ infamous “drunken” e-mails are available for the world on this site. To be fair, they are uncensored. You should be rolling on the floor laughing by the end.

This is a clip I made with Garageband, a Mac program. I do not have a title for it. Maybe you can create one and post it under the comment section.
P.S. You’re not funny if you title it something along the lines of “piece of crap,” or “Brent Battle sucks at GarageBand.” However, you might be laughing.

Before you vote on Nov. 7 or any election to come, take some advice from George Carlin, one of the few remaining stand-up comedians with a discernable perspective on life, social issues and politics. They always say to respect your elders and listen to his or her wisdom. I cannot stress that enough with Carlin. This track is titled “Dumb Americans.” WARNING: EXPLICIT LANGUAGE

More than one year after Hurricane Katrina ravaged the Gulf Coast and submerged parts of New Orleans, I pay a visit to the Big Easy and find most everything returned to normal.
Read my opinion column about the trip published in The Daily O’Collegian. The following are pictures from the trip.

Once upon a time, I got drunk beyond oblivion, took some prescription pills and drove recklessly at high speeds. I was lucky I didn’t kill anyone. Should I be in jail?
This is a question Eddie Sutton might be tossing around after foolishly getting behind the wheel when clearly he couldn’t drive. Eddie didn’t go to jail, even though he should have. Instead, we feel sorry for him and wish him the best.
Regardless the sentiments, why is he the exception to the rule?

The study titled “Fake TV News,” released in April, revealed 77 TV stations violated FCC standards and prompted an investigation. A lobby group for TV and radio news directors calls the FCC inquiry “an unprecendented intrusion” and claim First Amendment protection. First Amendment experts agree.

Words can and often speak louder than pictures and video, but the description and meaning must be perfected. Visually-
stimulating expressions are powerful, but they do not hold the philosophical explanations to life’s mysteries only words can express.
