Reflection

Picture of Me
This Web site has taught me that there is more to life than a busy schedule, work, a class assignment, or an upset over you’re favorite football team. It has opened my eyes to the different lifestyles and occurrences of other people’s lives. I learned about so many different people and normally wouldn’t necessarily have taken the opportunity to do so.

I would like to thank each and every person that allowed me to interview them and to get to know them a little better. People sharing insight into their lives, helps show that the world is a big place and the little things that happen might not seem like such a big deal, or that someone can sympathize with them. I hope this Web site introduces people to each other and shows that everyone has a story.

Meet Denise Ashnore

Picture of Denise
I also met Denise from my roommate while they were working on a class assignment. Denise seemed a little more apprehensive about letting me interview her, but after Halley gave it a shot she didn’t mind.
Denise has six animals and is married. Her husband’s name is Cody. She is double jointed and played softball in high school.

In high school, she drove her friend’s car and totaled it. It wasn’t her fault though, and they still remain friends after the fact. Denise has visited Hawaii, Alaska, and The Caribbean. She’s allergic to milk and is always cold. Denise is a therapeutic child life specialist major and has worked at a vet for the past five years.

Meet Halley Bennett

Picture of Halley
I met Halley through one of my roommates. She was working on a project with her for one of her classes when I interrupted them to see if I could interview her. Halley didn’t mind at all and was very helpful with telling me unique things about herself.

Halley lived in Alicante, Spain and Florence, Italy last summer. She’s from Abq, New Mexico and never visited Oklahoma State until OSU registration. One time she missed the train in Rome and pretended to be from Spain to get a free replacement ticket.

Halley started drinking coffee when she was in the 6th grade. She’s been working in coffee shops for the past couple of years and this past year worked at Aspen Coffee. All together, she’s worked in 3 coffee shops. Halley is really afraid of needles but has a tattoo. In the spring, Halley is going to be studying in Universidad Veritas in San Jose, Costa Rica in Spanish grammar, literature, and marine biology.

When she was in high school, she played in Smakers National Soccer Championships and got 3rd place. Halley had stitches every Halloween three years in a row when she was in elementary school. She loves going to concerts. She was in Italy when they won the World Cup in the summer of 2006. And finally, she can eat a pint of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream by herself.

Meet Ashley Powell

Picture of Ashley
Ashley Powell was a really sweet girl.  She was packing up her things when I asked her if I could interview her.  She was more than happy to help and was very energetic about telling me about herself.

Ashley is one of many Ashley Powell’s on campus.  Her middle name is Lauren and her grandma thought she was named after her mom’s 2 favorite soap operas.  She went to the state wide election watch parties and hung out with the candidates.  She has a brother that is 14 years younger than she is and people mistake him for her child.  She met the bassist from Hinder because her friends used to live with him.  She has never broken a bone in her body or has ever needed stitches.  Last weekend, her and her friends stole a giant turkey from the top of her friend’s house as randsom for beer.  Finally, she spent a month in Canada learning how to speak French while not being allowed to speak English.

I walked up to Jonathan while he was watching the big screen TV in the Student Union.  He looked at me like I was crazy but also didn’t mind helping me out by sharing some interesting things about him.

Jonathan used to live in California.  He hit a mailbox with his car his senior year of high school.  He played lacrosse in high school.  He is graduating in May with a finance degree.  Jonathan has two sisters, one is 29 years old and the other is 26 years old.  He is the great great grandson of “Vinegar Joe Stillwell” a general from WWII.  He does not have a car and gets around by bus or friends.  Finally he’s Italian and came to OSU with an academic scholarship.

Zach was sitting with Jessie Maxwell waiting for class to start in the Student Union.  He was excited that I was going to interview him and had plenty of things he wanted to share.

Zach once broke his leg while playing basketball on ice.  He also broke his hand while playing basketball.  Zach got in a wreck while text messaging last year.  He played golf with Garth Brooks at the Hefner Golf Course.  He used to have Zebra Cake eating contests; the cakes by Little Debbie.  At his senior picnic his friend’s car caught on fire.  It was so big that it made the news.  He was a guitar major in high school. Finally, he is friends with George Nigh, the former Governor or Oklahoma.

Jessie was also sitting in the Student Union before class.  She didn’t mind at all to help me out.  I asked her to think of some interesting things about herself and she had some trouble at the beginning.  After I gave her some ideas she started to spit out her interesting stories.

Jessie was on a clogging team that one nationals one year.  She has been to Disney World 14 times.  She once got kicked out of 1st grade for beating up the kids in class.  In high school she was on the news all of the time because she played basketball, softball, and track.  Her grandma used to live next to Martha Stuart.  She lives on a ranch.  Jessie has over 30 horses and thinks she has 7 dogs.  She wasn’t quite sure how many though.  Finally, she tore all 3 ligaments in her knee while playing basketball.

Meet Nikki Hale

Picture of Nikki
Nikki was sitting in the Student Union with Jessica Cox.  She was also nervous about me taking her picture but also didn’t mind helping me out.

Nikki was born on Friday the 13th.  She has had shoulder surgery, there is almost nothing left because she has played softball for so many years.  Tommy Morison, the boxer, is from her hometown.  Tommy Morison used to box Mike Tyson.  Nikki faints at the sight of her own blood.  Her dad told her she was a boy when she was 2 and she believed it until she was 3 years old.  She is allergic to peanut oil, which means she’s allergic to peanut butter.  There is a family in her hometown that has committed incest.  Their kids have learning disabilities.  Finally, during district play, she knocked in the winning run.

Meet Jessica Cox

Picture of Jessica
I met Jessica in the Student Union when she was eating with one of her friends.  She really didn’t want me taking her picture but after convincing her that there wouldn’t be a lot of people checking out my Web site, she agreed to tell me some interesting facts about herself.

Jessica is the great great grand daughter of Quanah Parker.  Quanah Parker is the chief of the Comanche Tribe.  She does not have an appendix.  Jessica has had four concussions, each time she has fallen.  She once hit a tree while skiing in Colorado.  She claims that she had bark in her forehead for 2 weeks.  Jessica was the first one in her family to come to OSU; everyone else went to OU.  She got to meet Derek Jeter.  She is allergic to Codeine. Finally, she had a relative that was on Jeopardy.

Meet Justin Waldrup

November 13th, 2006

Picture of Justin
Justin was the last friend of KC’s that I interviewed.  He walked in late and didn’t really understand what was going on until I explained the situation for him.  It seemed like he didn’t want to but felt that he should since everyone else did.  So Justin started thinking of what was interesting about him.

Justin is an aviation major with a goal of being a professional pilot.  He’s a Flying Aggies member. The Flying Aggies is a group of aviation majors that go on trips and listen to profession pilot speakers.  Justin recently got his instrament rating, which means he can now fly in the clouds legally.

Justin has broken his hand twice in less than two months from each other.  He now has a permanent plate in his hand.  Recently, he got fired/resigned from his bartending job at the Rancher’s Club.

Justin loves tuna sandwiches.  When he was little, his sister fed him a whole pack of cigarettes and he had to have his stomach pumped.  His sister was also an intern for the FBI and he had to have a background check ran on him.
