Meet Jacob Pickett

November 13th, 2006

Picture of Jacob
Jacob was also around when I interviewed Cory and KC.  He was excited to hear that he was next to be interviewed.  He was quick to give me interesting facts about himself.

Jacob started two philanthropy bike rides.  He rode over 200 miles to support Alzheimer’s and Safe Harbor Homes.  This summer, he finally got on his first motor cycle and it was a Harly Davison V-Rod drag bike.  Jacob ran 10.55 seconds in a quarter mile.

Jacob is also from South Carolina but came to OSU because his parents came here so he decided to come here.  He met Ziggy Marley at Jerry Garcia’s funeral.  Last summer, for a week, he worked in Stergeous, SD for Biker’s Week.

Jacob once went on a double date with Cameron from The Real World, but Cameron wasn’t his date.  He said that he wished she was though, but she was a little conceited.  Jacob got to pet the dog from the movie The patriot.  His friend lived behind the owner’s house and they would run back and forth and he waited until they came to his side of the fence.

And finally, Jacob has been to Italy, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan and Australia.  He got to go to all of these places because his dad is in marketing and gets to travel everywhere.

Meet Cory Reynolds

November 13th, 2006

Picture of Cory
I met Cory Reynolds at the same time as KC Jones.  It was one of his friends so I thought I would interview the whole group.  Cory had some interesting things that he came up with.

Cory has played guitar for 11 years and has been in the OSU Jazz Band for 4 years.  He used to live in New York and his brother was born there.  When he was little he fell off of a stool in his kitchen and still has a scar above his left eye to remind him of it.  He also has a backwards checkmark on his cheek from the chicken pox.  Cory also had plastic surgery on his face to get a cyst out from under his skin.  It was right by his ear.

Cory is very proud that is old pitching coach from high school as an ex-LA Dodger pitcher.  Also that he has an autographed ball of Alex Rodriguez.  Cory has also met Alison Krauss and Nickel Creek.  He once played in a band with a world famous drummer named Gregg Bissomette.  And finally he has been to Niagara Falls.

Meet KC Jones

Picture of KC

I met KC Jones outside of my friend’s apartment.  He was taking out the trash when I asked him to tell me a few interesting things about himself.  He had trouble at first but after giving him a few ideas, he got the ball rolling.

KC’s name is spelled with the letters “K” and “C” unlike most of the same names.  He was adopted when he was born by his grandparents.  KC has a total of 6 dogs.  He has two cars, a 1983 truck and a 2006 Honda Civic.  He drives his Honda Civic around town but his truck is back home.

KC also has a brother named Dow Jones.  He all stated in baseball and broke his tailbone while doing so in 6th grade.  KC has won 3 art shows with his various graphic designs.  He has had his two best friends for years.  They met in 1st grade and have kept in contact since.  And finally, he gets hives from grass.

Hey…take this survey.

Meet Josh Brown

November 2nd, 2006

Picture of Josh

Josh sits behind me in my geography class and is almost always very quiet in class. I normally don’t turn around to talk to people but once again I asked for some unusual things about himself and he gave me a list.

The first thing Josh told me was that he does not have a spleen. He has had three surgeries. His girlfriend has a nub for a toe. A lawn mower has the top of it. Josh’s best friend likes to fight; he is actually training to be a UFC fighter. Josh lives at the lake. He has a boat. His favorite team is the Texas Longhorns. He is from Cushing Oklahoma and he loves pit-bulls. Finally, Josh is scared of spiders and mice.

Meet Brooke Butcher

November 2nd, 2006

Picture of Brooke
I also have class with Brook. I never talked to her but the other day sparked a conversation. When I asked Brook to tell me some unusual things about herself that no one would know just by looking at her, she thought I was crazy. After some talking, she gave me a good list of things about here.

Brooke has a hole in her ear, not where it is pierced. She has a twin brother and her sorority sisters had no clue. Brooke’s brother now calls her every day but he never did in high school. Instead of saying that she is bored, instead Brooke says that she wants to scrapbook instead.

Another unusual thing about Brooke is that she likes butter on her bread, only if its sliced bread, but she doesn’t like butter on toast or biscuits. Brooke is late everywhere even though she tires not to. Which seems to be true from class. And finally, her eye color changes depending on her mood.

Meet Allison Vitali

November 2nd, 2006

Picture of Allison
I have a class with Allison and never took the time to say hello until the other day. I asked Allison to tell me some weird or unusual things about herself.

Allison told me that she could touch her nose with her tongue. When she was 9, she met Barbra Bush. The only problem was that she didn’t know it was her. I think it was too young at the time to know who she was. Allison’s aunt used to nanny for Tom Cruise’s daughter Isabella. It was when Tom Cruise and Nicole just adopted her. Allison hates feet and eggs. She, of course, goes to OSU but deep down she’s a closet OU fan. She admits that she says the most random things at the more random times.

One thing she found weird about herself was that she has to make her bed before she sleeps in it, she hates sleeping in an unmade bed. Also, Allison can’t wear closed toe shoes because she gets claustrophobic. Finally, she feels that if she could wash her hair and style it all day long she would because that’s what makes her calm.

Meet Blake Burger

October 17th, 2006

Picture of Blake
I also met Blake out at the intramural fields and randomly walked up to him. Blake is related to Davy Crocket, his great grandmother is even buried next to him. He has been to all 50 states, he drove to 48 and flew to Alaska and Hawaii.

Blake was born with an extra tooth that stuck out like a fang but got it removed. He got his first kiss his senior year of high school because he was pressured by all of the students at his high school. He won basketball homecoming and it was a tradition so everyone knew what he had to do. He played the violin in honors orchestra in high school but not anymore. He is currently the fraternity president of FIJI.

He has to have black-eyed peas and BBQ hot dogs on new years day. His Dad made the Dallas Cowboys football team as the kicker, but he kicked barefoot and they wouldn’t allow it. So he went to the CFL (Canadian football league) and tried out so he could be the quarterback and the kicker and played for them for 3 years. His dad ended up quitting because he wasn’t having fun so now he is a teacher.

Meet Stephanie Smith

October 17th, 2006

Picture of Stephanie

I met Stephanie out at the intramural fields and she seemed like she’d be easy to talk to, so I approached her. Here is what I learned about Stephanie.

She is a die-hard Batman fan. She is a football manager for the OSU football team because she needed a PE credit and it seemed easy. But now she loves it and is happy about her decision. She has never broken any bones or received stitches or surgery.

Stephanie once traveled to Europe, Austria, Germany, France, and England all for an AP college class. She plays basketball, softball, track, and baseball. She likes to hang out with the guys more than she likes to hang out with girls. Stephanie loves cartoons, especially Loonie Toons and Bugs Bunny. For her 5th birthday her mom bought her a pony. She was an only child.

Stephanie has a lot of animals with interesting names. Her goat’s name is Oreo, her Hamsters name is Odie, her dog’s name is TwoTwo after her birthday (Feb. 2nd) and her fishes name is Bob because he is a bobcat. And finally, Stephanie has her entire family living in Oklahoma, including aunts, uncles, and cousins but they never really get together except for the holidays
