Another Hollywood Split????

The October 16 premiere of World War II drams Flags of Our Fathers in NYC was a night to remember for costar Ryan Phillippe but the reason had nothing to do with the film. According to an insider, when the actor and his wife, Reese Witherspoon, exited their limo, neither smiled. They didn’t say anything to each other when they walked in. They looked miserable. At the after party at the SoHo Grand Hotel where the usually composed actress, sources say, seemed tipsy — they kept their distance. A fellow guest has said that they kept their distance most of the night. The only exception: A 20 minute fight on the fringes of the party. Reese was said to be very angry and upset and called her husband an asshole.

The bitter exchange took on new significance when a rep for the couple released the following statement two weeks later, on October 30. “We are saddened to announce that Reese and Ryan have decided to formally separate. They remain committed to their family and we ask that you please respect their privacy and the safety of their children at this time.”

What could be the possible reason for the surprising split? Could it be the fact the Ryan has recently grown close to Abbie Cornish his Australian costar in the Indie film Stop Loss: according to an insider, during a shoot in Austin, Texas the two had “a fling”. For a married a man Phillippe was rather open about their relationship. On October 10, local Lauren Scott witnessed Phillippe and a blonde, who fit Cornish’s description kissing at a sushi restaurant Kenichi.

Britney Spears and K Fed are calling it quits. Yes I know its unbelievable but it is happening. A California court it confirming that Mrs. Spears is filing for divorce from her husband of almost two years with whom she has two baby boys citing irreconcilable differences.

Spears and Federline wed in September 2004 and have two sons, Sean Preston, 1, and Jayden James, who was born in Sept. 12. According to legal documents filed on Tuesday in Los Angeles, Spears is seeking custody of both boys, with Federline getting visitation rights. Spears gives a separation date of Monday. She asks that each party pay their own legal fees and waives her right to spousal support. She also requests that certain assets including miscellaneous jewelry and other personal effects be confirmed as separate property.

She and Federline both spent the weekend in New York City, but Spears did not appear at any of the events supporting Federlines new CD. Still on Friday night at his record release party at the hot spot Stereo, Federline denied rumors of their marriage coming to an end.

When Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt arrived in the western India city of Pune there was a certain something in air that made everyone excited. In town to film A Might Heart, about slain journalist Daniel Pearl. With all three kids in tow the family checked into the swank Le Meridien Pune hotel. On October 7, while the couple was leaving the hotel, their long time bodyguard Mickey Brett confronted a crown of photographers outside, grabbing the neck of British photographer Sam Relph, an act that was caught on camera.

It was just the latest incident for the bodyguard, who has been with the couple since 2005. He was questioned in the 1993 murder of a British tycoon. In Namibia, where the couple went in April for the birth of Shiloh, Brett threatened photographers also.

When news recently broke that Eva Longoria and main man Tony Parker were “going through a very difficult time and that she was two-timing him their nearly 2-year-old romance seemed to be coming to an end. But on the weekend of October 6 Longoria flew to Paris to meet up with the basketball player, who was abroad for exhibition play. “He begged her to come,” says an insider. “He said he’ll forgive her, but they need to talk it out.” Though the pair engaged in PDA at a local Planet Hollywood bash, they spent much of her trip holed up in their suite. Still, the actress may have ulterior motive for the reunion: “She wants to take the heat off what happened with Mario,” says a close pal of Longoria.

Jessica Simpson’s summer tryst with singer John Mayer was thought to be just a publicity stunt but recent events have lead people to believe that there is more to this short lived romance than meets the eye. On October 3, gossip Web site TMZ.com reported on October late night rendezvous at the Beverly Hills’ Four Seasons Hotel. Citing “multiple sources,” a site rep stands by the story and a separate source has claimed that they too witnessed Simpson and Mayer entering the hotel elevator together.

However, the stars friends are standing by their story: It’s not true! Mayer’s rep won’t comment on his personal life and Simpson says “she’s keeping her personal life private.” If the pair hopes to avoid the media frenzy that their last sparks ignited, it may be too late. On Today October 4, Matt Lauer asked Simpson about the new rumors and the singer played coy. Lets see how long she can keep this one under wraps.

Is the celeb obsession with weight loss out of control? Well look in any magazine and you might have to say yes. It seems that today more than ever celebs are shrinking by what seems like that minute. This fad is rubbing off on their fans.

The question that is on everyone mind is: What is healthy and what is sexy cut to the heart of a renewed debate that is currently raging everywhere from message boards to movie sets to modeling agencies. What makes this controversy new is that for the first time both designers and stars have been put on the defensive: In Hollywood, style makers like Kate Bosworth, 23, and Nicole Richie, 25, are setting troubling new standards for thinness. Today is seems as though whoever is thinner gets the job and the competition is enormous.

Today the scrutiny of thin stars is more than ever. Nicole Richie was so fed up with the constant examination of her frailness that on Sept. 25 she issued a statement on her Myspace.com page. So how long is this thin trend going to last?? It could be awhile because thin seems to be go no where.

For weeks, distraught friends and family have tired to figure out the reason behind the sudden death of Anna Nicole Smith’s son, Daniel. Since his shocking death on September 10—just days after his mother gave birth to his baby sisters theories behind the death have run rampant. Possible causes have included everything from murder to club drugs. Rumors even swirled that Daniel met with a drug dealer the day before his death.

In the first toxicology report no traces of cocaine, heroin or alcohol where found but Daniel was taking a low dose of the prescription antidepressant Lexapro. A doctor investigating this tragic accident reported that three pills were found at the scene of the death, and the doctor believes that Daniel might have taken other harmless pills such as sleeping pills.

Anna Nicole, 38, isn’t the only one who is looking for closure, other family members and friends will miss Daniels sense of humor and daredevil antics. There is no date set for the funeral at this time.

A friend of Katie Holmes dishes that the wedding is soon and that they are wanting it to be a surprise to everyone. Sources say that after a 15 month engagement and one child they have finally set a wedding date. The wedding is still in its planning stage but they’re really excited about it and have always said that they would like to be married in the fall.

Tom Cruise, 44, famously proposed to Holmes, 27, on bended knew while reciting a two-page poem at the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Compared to this extravagant proposal their wedding is expected to very low key. Sources report that it will simple and elegant, they don’t want any riffraff there, just people who are special to them that they trust. Cruise’s children with Nicole Kidman, Isabella, 13, and Connor, 11, along their 6-month-old, Suri, will all be part of the ceremony.

Who hasn’t heard of Jessica Simpson’s short-lived romance with crooner John Mayer? Well if you have been living under a rock here is a recap: US Weekly went public with the romance and plastered it all over the cover of one of their weekly issues. Not a day later he was publicly denying the tryst and made Jess look like a fool. Mayer’s pals claimed he couldn’t handle her high profile life.

Soon after she lost her voice and had to cancel a couple of appearances and then to make matters worse her album sold a dismal 101,000 copies in the first week, way less than expected. When a healed Jessica appeared on the View it was her turn to publicly deny the rumors and that she did. Days later she fired her publicist, Rob Shuter, she wasn’t impressed with his work anymore. On September 11, she was a guest on the Ellen DeGeneres Show and praised ex husband Nick Lachey. Also, the rumors that her sister Ashlee Simpson is battling an eating disorder and is supposedly obsessed with plastic surgery has to of taken its toll.

But has all this drama finally caught up with the squeaky clean pop princess? It was reported that her family was seen walking on egg shells because she is not in a mentally good state. But there is some hope lingering in the horizon…her movie, Employee Of The Month, is opening soon and she just kicked off her own line of hair extension with her hair stylist Ken Paves. So maybe that will be a little pick me up for the star.
