Stillwater Scene
Stillwater Scene is, in my opinion, Stillwater’s best publication for local event info. It’s definitely lacking in news value and quality, but within the pages of one circular, a person can find a schedule of basically all the bands playing on any given day during the month and at which venues they are playing, AND what drink specials can be found at various hangouts. Yeah, there are articles on bands and upcoming events too, but those are pretty much just filler.
It is released once a month and contains a detailed calendar of events including plays at the Town and Gown theater, karaoke and Texas Hold ‘Em, not to mention live bands. Copies of the magazine can be picked up at various places around town, like Eskimo Joes, Mike’s College Bar, Stables, and numerous other places around town. However, the Web page has a added extra: users can visit a “bands” tab and get linked to sites to find out about dozens of local acts, well-known as well as those you’ve never heard of.
