Failsafe is a Tulsa-based five-man fast-paced hard rock band with a metal edge. Lead singer Jake Williams’ Screaming vocals add the perfect thrash-rock edge accompaniment to the heavy instrumentals. Bonus: Bassist Chris Rye is a piercer at a studio in Tulsa.

“Delete the Dream” is the opener for the band’s latest album and a fast, in-your-face rock tune that’s very slightly reminiscient of early 90’s Metallica and Megadeth. “Our Everything” is currently my favorite tune by the band, it’s metal with a soft, sentimental and regretful edge.

The following songs are from Wichita, Kan. band Gooding, a trio Jeremy Ash wrote about in one of his posts a couple of weeks ago. Gooding is one of my favorite indie regional acts, and “Free” is my favorite song from them. “Jesus Comin” is a good song too, I attached it to my movie file on the Nov. 2 post because I thought it went pretty well with the Sniper film.

Upside is one of my very favorite local bands of all time. I became addicted to them in 2004, thanks to a jerk of an ex (well, of course he wasn’t a jerk when we were dating) who went to OU. They are originally from Tulsa, but moved to Denton, TX last year to be closer to the music scene in Dallas and to try to break into mainstream. They come back to OK every once in awhile to play shows, usually in Tulsa, OKC or Norman but every once in a blue moon in Stillwater. I haven’t talked to Sid, Ben, Rob and Owen in awhile but I still think their music kicks all sorts of butt.
