Nintendo profit up 72% / Sony down 94%
Friday, October 27th, 2006Upon the advent of the release of Nintendo’s and Sony’s latest portable systems (Sony’s first, Nintendo’s 5th generation counting their first, which would be Game & Watch systems), many people speculated that Sony would have the upper hand due to the enhanced graphical power (the power of the PlayStation2 in comparison to the N64), superior non-gaming applications built-in abilities (checking the internet is built-in to the PlayStation Portable), and “superior data storage” found within the UMD (Universal Media Disc) capable of holding almost 2GB of data instead of Nintendo’s relatively smaller (in both data storage and in physical dimensions). Some even said that the PSP would crush Nintendo’s handheld and would cause them to even pull out of the portable market for a time. And to all of the people who stated these opinions, This makes me recall the Simpson’s character Nelson Muntz exclaiming “HA HA”.
