Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz Review
When it comes to party games, Nintendo Systems have some of the most bizarre implementations from Mario Party and Warioware games to Rayman Raving Rabbids and Super Monkey Ball.
Having never played any of the other games in the Monkey Ball series, I was given the idea to check out the system by some of my classmates. I can’t say how different it is from the other Monkey Ball games other than the fact that the Wii’s motion sensing control was used in a large variety of ways, though several were repeats of Wii sports, only with more monkeys everywhere and less tight controls.
Other than the party games though, there is still the single player game, which has evolved to also use the control, but in a far more impressive experience. The player tilts the control to tilt the level itself around the monkey, which was until this point handled by analog sticks and the touch screen of the Nintendo DS. The controls are tight and the game play progressively gets more difficult.
If you can stand the cuteness that oozes from this game, then you can be assured of massive replay lifespan due to the several mini-games that exist (darts, trombone and jump rope are some of my favorites) as well as the single player. SMB: BB gets a B.
