The French Horn has a beautiful sound that stands out from every other brass instrument. It is a middle voice, meaning it is like an alto or a tenor in a choir. Though its parts are usually written right in the middle of the brass sections, the French Horn has a very large range and can play as high as a trumpet or as low as a trombone.

The OSU Horn Studio is a dedicated group of French Horn players, majors and non-majors, that seek to master this instrument with the most beautiful sound. Under the direction of Lanette Compton the OSU Horns have become a group with the potential for greatness in their careers at OSU and beyond.

This site is intended to inform others of the accomplishments of studio members and give information about upcoming concerts. This site was made to get the word out about the talent here at Oklahoma State and get people to support its continued growth.

In the future you will see bio’s of the Professor Compton and the studio members so you can get to know the people behind the mouth pieces. Recordings of favorite pieces, videos of studio parties and news of studio events will be updated regularly.
