Teaching Concept

Over the years I have developed a teaching style based on ideas that worked for me. I strive to prepare all of my students to be competitive horn players, regardless of major. I make few distinctions between performance and education major requirements. Both my performance and education majors play fundamental exercises, standard etudes, orchestral exerpts and solo literature each week.

I believe that our best players will make the best teachers. Students respect a teacher that is also an accomplished performer. There are many ways to achieve the same goal, so I encourage my students to develop their own playing style with my guidance. I set expectations and help them to meet and exceed them from day one.
