Presidential Pets!

Tuesday, October 31st, 2006

I thought it was fitting to talk about political pets becuase of the upcoming elections. As far back as 1789, there has been 37 presidents that have had a dog they have enjoyed as a great companion. President Bush has two beloved Scottish Terriers “Barney” and “Miss Beazely” who he is very fond of. They have been in the news as much as Bush, they even have their own web site dedicated to them. When people see the president with them, his image was put into a better light and his ratings went up. This just goes to show that America has a big place in their hearts for dogs.

Bow Wow-N To Boulder

Tuesday, October 31st, 2006

I just wanted to let everyone know that if you are not busy from eight to two this Saturday, then you must come to PETCO. If you are asking yourself why, well it is for my group PR campaign. We are doing our campaign to raise money for the Humane Society. Are Bow Wow-N To Boulder campaign is to raise enough money to transport dogs to Boulder, Colorado because there is not enough room at the Humane Society for all of the dogs. There will also be dogs up for adoption and other materials. If you adopt a dog while we are there, we will waive the adoption fee. Please come and support our campaign while saving a dogs life in the mean time.

Puppy Fever!

Thursday, October 26th, 2006

Tis the season for everyone to get a puppy . Two of my friends are getting puppies this weekend. One is getting a beagle and the other a yellow lab, boy are they in for a treat. They have no idea that they are about to have many sleepless nights and plan around their puppy. Even though it is hard to raise a puppy it is also very rewarding. You will always have someone that greets you when you get home and they always seem to love you no matter what. For all of you out there getting ready to get a puppy, just remember two things; patience and care!

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PETCO

Tuesday, October 24th, 2006

If all of you pet lovers have been waiting for a great pet store to open, it has finally come. It is a huge pet store with everything you could imagine. They have food, clothes, accessories, bedding and even grooming. If you are looking for a one-stop pet shop, this is the place to go. I have already been several times and have enjoyed every visit, I think it is because you can take your dog with you. The dogs get really excited and it is a bonding experience for both you and your dog. I went this Sunday and I had my dog Bailey, along with my parents dog Ellie, a huge golden retriever. As we were walking around, Ellie started taking treats from the shelves and eating them. I was mortified, she was stealing who would have known. Finally we went to check out and I had to tell the cashier that my dog had stolen and told him what she had devoured in a matter of minutes. Lets just say this will be the last time I take Ellie shopping.

Do Dogs Resemble Their Owners?

Thursday, October 19th, 2006

I have found that researchers believe that dogs and their owners can resemble eachother. However, only with pure-breeds, not mixed breeds. Strangers can almost always match the dogs with their owners if given pictures. People cannot decide what factors are responsible for the similarities, whether it be physical or stylistic. It is probably a mixture of both of these factors. I will let you be the judge!

Hide the Chocolate!

Thursday, October 19th, 2006

Dogs just like humans love the taste of chocolate. However, it can be very harmful and even fatal to your dog. Chocolate has lots of caffeine and obromine which will speed up your dogs heartbeat. Other signs that your dog has been poisoned with chocolate are vomitting, diarrhea, tremors, rapid breathing and seizures. Since Halloween is approaching I found a site on Halloween Safety, it gives tips on preventing your dog from getting sick. Please go in check it out it could be the difference between life or death.

Halloween is Near!

Tuesday, October 17th, 2006

smallAs halloween is approaching, I have really been wondering what I should dress Bailey, my miniture schnauzer up as. This I’m sure sounds silly , but in fact many people do it and spend a lot of money. I am going to give you a web site for great costumes for your furry friend. I would purchase your costume as soon as you can to make sure you get it in time and that it will fit. Also it is important that you get your dog a costume that they will enjoy wearing.

Homecoming!!!!!

Tuesday, October 17th, 2006

For all of you out there who are eager and ready for homecoming, it is finally here. I am so excited because my whole family is coming up including my beloved golden retriever, Elle. My mother told me today that she was bringing Ellie, I was beside myself. I am a senior this year and every year during walk arounds there are so many dogs out and about. I always tell my mom to bring the dog because Ellie would absolutely eat it up. She loves to be around people and enjoys any attention she can get. So as my last homecoming is approaching, Ellie will finally get to experience a homecoming. I urge everyone who has a dog, that loves to be around people and is well behaved to bring them to walk arounds. It is a way for them to socialize and enjoy themselves.
