Helpful Dog!

I had read a story about a twelve-year-old dog Maggie who used to be a Seeing Eye Dog, but got very depressed when her owner died.  According to the past, Seeing Eye Dogs are usually not retrainable after their owner dies.  This is because the loss of their owner is to upseting to them and they often have to be put to sleep.  However, Maggie was adopted by a pastor and at first did not adjust well, but later found another purpose in life.  Maggie is now a pet therapy dog working for hospice.  Maggie absolutely loves her new job because it is keeping her busy and makes her feel worthy.  Her presence is very therapeutic to all the patients and makes them feel comfortable in there last days on earth.  Maggie has not only found a new purpose in life but was also given a second chance to do what she does best, help others.
