Man and Dogs Worst Enemy!

The big C word, yes cancer.  I have unfortunatley had both of my parents diagnosed with cancer and have come to find out many dogs around me are also dying of cancer.  Dogs and humans have a lot in common and unfortunately one of them is cancer.  I am dedicating this page to all dogs who have lost their lives or have been affected by cancer.  I want to let everyone know that the advances we use to save humans can also help canines as well.  Dogs tend to develop cancer about the same rate as humans.  One in five dogs will develop cancer and Boston Terriers, Boxers, Cocker Spanials, German Shepards and Golden Retrievers are more prone to cancer.  Some things you can do to prevent your dog from developing cancer is, getting your canine spayed and neuterd by six months of age.  By doing this, it will reduce breast, ovary and prostate cancer.  Also if you see any abnormal swellings that grow, sores that won’t heal, loss of weight and appetite, loss of stamina or difficulty breathing you need to make an appointment with your vet so your dog will get the proper treatment he/she needs.  It is absolutely manditory to make sure that your dog has regular vet appointments, just like you.  By doing this you will give your dog a longer and healthier future.
