Not settlin’…

picture of Sugarland Sugarland is never settling with anything less than the absolute best! “Settlin” is their new song at #6 on the countdown and it is a fun track! I love to sing it really loud and dance around. That is how many of their songs are, and this hit is nothing different. Their album is awesome as well!

Say goodbye…

“Stupid Boy” is falling off the charts at #20, but it certainly had a great run. Keith has had a real tough year with his rehab, marriage and new album, but he has still got it! Something tells me if he can with stand all of those trials and still bust out a hit, this won’t be the last we hear of him!

New girl in town…

picture of Daniell Peck Danielle Peck with her song “Isn’t That Everything,” is #18 this week. I have not really made up my mind yet about this one, I like the song but I think it is going to take me hearing it a few more times before I make up my mind about it. She is a cute girl that seems to have a lot of potential and I look forward to seeing what she will come up with next.

Still waiting…

Joe Nichols is just shy of the #1 spot this week, but he is not there yet. “I’ll Wait For You,” is a real emotional song, one that really brings tears to your eyes. Its sentiment is about a couple in love and is arguably one of his best yet.

He made it!

Dierks Bentley is finally #1, after a “Long Trip Alone” to the top. His fans are ecstatic to see his progress and I for one am thrilled that his song is doing so well, as it is one of my very favorites. He has had so many great songs over the past few years, all of which have been on the countdown at some point and this is just another one for the books!

Joining us…

picture of Allison Krauss Making her way onto the countdown is Allison Krauss with “Missing You.” A deep and heart-felt tune that definately deserves a shot at #1. This is truly a great song and coming from Allison Krauss, that is no surprise. I would certainly check out her new album, I have heard nothing but good things about it.

Sweet Sounds

picture of Emerson Drive “Moments,” by Emerson Drive is a real sweet song and has a lot of feeling in it. I first heard this song driving to Oklahoma from Texas and I just loved it. I have yet to hear the other songs by this group but I look forward to checking up on them and finding out what they are all about.

Making his way…

picture of Pat Green Coming in this week at #5 is an old favorite of mine, Pat Green! He has so many great songs that I don’t feel have ever received the recognition they deserve but this one has certainly made it. It’s softer and sweeter than what we are used to hearing from Pat but all the same, it’s like it says in the title.. “Dixie Lullaby.”

Nothing high maintenance about it…

picture of Toby Keith Toby Keith sings about a beautiful “High Maintenance Women” who does not need some maintenance man. It’s such a funny song and I would expect nothing less from Toby Keith . He has got to be one of the goofiest guys out there and he sure loves to sing about it. This music video is a riot and I highly suggest scoping it out.

The real American idol…

picture of Carrie Underwood Bucky is not the only American Idol to be among the top twenty this week, he is just a few spots down from Miss Carrie Underwood. I don’t think anyone will argue that Carrie has truely lived up to her title as the American Idol. She is unstoppable with hits like, “Jesus, Take the Wheel,” “Before He Cheats” and now “Wasted,” which some of her fans say is her best song yet. Who ever would have believed that a little girl out of Oklahoma would not only be one the most acclaimed female artists in country music, but also such a role model to her younger audiences around the world. Carrie is at #13 this week but I have no doubt she will be making it to the top five at least!
