Bucky is back!

picture of Bucky Covington American Idol member, Bucky Covington shocks the country world with his new song, “A Different World!” Bucky did not make it all the way in the show but by working his way up to the #1 spot, he is proving to himself and his fans that this truely is a different world. I am really curious to see what he will do with this song as well as accomplish. I have not heard much about his cd but I know it is in stores now and from what the countdown says, he is doing pretty well for himself!

Gettin’ to be that time!

picture of Kenny Chesney “Summertime,” by Kenny Chesney is #10 this week and it came along just in time. Kenny is well known to the countdown and often has songs in it, and this time is no different. It’s a fun song to sing and dance to, and really puts me in the mood for summer!

No tears here…

picture of Taylor Swift Taylor Swift, the youngest on the countdown coming in at #15 this week with “Teardrops on My Guitar.” She is fairly new to the world of country music but has more than proven that she fits right in. This I believe is her third hit on the countdown just in the past two years. She is beautiful, energetic, talented and the fans love her. Her song, “Tim McGraw” was a huge hit with her younger fan base because not only could they relate to it, but also most of them are fans of Tim as well. I really can’t wait to see what she will do next.

Not the last hit…

This week on the countdown Tim McGraw is creeping up to #11 with “Last Dollar.” Tim is an old favorite of mine and I hope to hear a lot more from him as the years go on. He has a great mainstream country sound to him and never ceases to churn out a hit. With so many platinum records under his belt, I have no doubt that his new album will be nothing short of amazing! I look forward to hearing more off of it.

A country boy can survive!

picture of Hank Williams This week coming in at #5 is a legend, Hank Williams Jr. and his song “A Country Boy Can Survive!” Surely everyone has heard this song on the radio once or twice. Also, to be from someone like Hank is truely a wonderful thing, he is most assuredly one of the big dogs and endlessly following in his father’s footsteps! The countdown and his fans are glad to have him inching towards the top this week! Can’t wait to see what he does next!

Falling off

Keith Urban is falling off the countdown with his hit “Stupid Boy.” I personally love this song and am not yet sick of it but apparently other listeners are. His new cd has a lot of great songs on it and I highly suggest buying it. “Can’t Stop Loving You” is just one of the other amazing songs on his new album, “Love, Pain and The Whole Crazy Game.”

Waited long enough

picture of Joe Nichols Joe Nichols hits one out of the park this week with “I’ll Wait For You.” This is a wonderful song, wonderfully sweet that is. He really struck a chord with me. I believe his cd is in stores right now but am not positive. I really see this one making it to the top of the charts.

Just Barely

picture of Gretchen Wilson Sliding into the top five this week is Gretchen Wilson with “Come to Bed.” I was not sure about this song at first but now it is beginning to grow on me. It is certainly a creative video that any true romantic would appreciate. Her cd is in stores now and I have not checked it out myself, but from what I have heard from her in the past, I am sure that it is great!

Not my favorite…

picture of Jack Ingram There is a song on the countdown that I am not a huge fan of, “Lips of an Angel,” by Jack Ingram. This song just seems to rub me the wrong way. It could be the lyrics, or just that it is a remake of the also recent hit by a band out of Oklahoma, Hinder. But I would suggest listening to it for yourself and forming your own opinion. It is #3 on the countdown, so obviously he is doing something right.

And the winner is…

There is a new #1 in town and he is no stranger to the top twenty countdown. Blake Shelton with “Don’t Make Me,” a personal favorite of mine! This song is a great hit and needs to be in everyone’s homes across the nation. The music video is on CMT all the time and is definately worth taking the time to sit down and watch!
