On March 20, Britney Spears ended her stay at Promises. The singer went home on Tuesday night following a 26-day stay at the famous drug and alcohol rehabilitation center in Malibu, California.
Stepping out in public for the first time since leaving Malibu’s Promises treatment facility, Brit and two of her girlfriends took a one-hour hip-hop class at Millennium Dance Complex in North Hollywood on Friday, March 23.

The official cause of Anna Nicole Smith’s death is accidental overdose, authorities announced Monday. “We found nothing to indicate foul play,” Seminole Police Chief Charlie Tiger announced at a press conference this morning. “This case is an accidental overdose with no other criminal elements present and this effectively closes the case on Anna Nicole Smith.”
Meanwhile, Smith’s former partner, Howard K. Stern, and her ex-boyfriend, Larry Birkhead, are battling over custody of her daughter, six-month-old Dannielynn Smith. Both claim to be the father of the child. Birkhead recently took a DNA test in order to prove paternity. Stern is appealing to stop the DNA results from being read at the trial, which resumes April 3.

Jesse Metcalfe has checked into rehab, his rep confirms.
“On Monday, March 19, Jesse Metcalfe entered a rehab facility to deal with alcohol issues,” spokesperson Susan Patricola said in a statement, first reported by the New York Post. He realized he had a problem and was anxious to deal with it immediately.”

Double the good news for Salma Hayek: The actress is engaged to businessman boyfriend Francois-Henri Pinault – and she’s pregnant. The pair have kept a relatively low profile since their relationship began – though Hayek, 40, has joined Pinault for occasional public events.
Pinault, 44, is the CEO of luxury goods firm PPR, which owns Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent, as well as a French department store and national music chain. His father, Francois, is an avid art collector owning more than 2,500 valuable pieces, including Picassos, Miros and work by contemporary artitsts including Damien Hirst. Familiar on both European and American fashion and art circuits, the family fortune is estimated in excess of $7 billion.

Leonardo DiCaprio arrived in Israel on Sunday with girlfriend Bar Refaeli, 21, to visit the model’s family.
Israel Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said DiCaprio and supermodel Refaeli were taking a private tour of the Western Wall tunnels. Rosenfeld said the photographers were camped outside the tunnels waiting for the couple to emerge. “Two of DiCaprio’s security guards were arrested by police after being involved in a fight that broke out,” Rosenfeld told Haaretz. “They are being questioned.” After the scuffle, the couple of almost a year escaped in a waiting white van.
UPDATE: The two security guards protecting Leo and Bar were released, with all charges dropped. The Israeli police have now issued a restraining order against the photographers for being aggressive.

Reese spent the weekend in the Big Apple getting even better acquainted with Jake Gyllenhaal. The single actress visited Jake’s Greenwich Village penthouse on March 1. He returned the favor the next day, stopping by The Mandarin Oriental hotel in Midtown Manhattan to see Reese. Their blossoming love affair is taking its toll on her estranged husband, Ryan Phillippe. He has been begging his soon-to-be ex-wife to give their relationship another shot and that he is determined to do whatever it takes to win back the love of his life.

Jessica Simpson and boyfriend John Mayer have been enjoying a romantic trip in Rome, Italy. The lovebirds flew into the Eternal City on Thursday morning on an overnight flight from New York. Fellow passengers onboard the flight recognized the couple, and Mayer and Simpson happily signed autographs.
In typical Simpson fashion, the high maintenance singer-actress didn’t pack light. Upon arrival, porters had to load five heavy suitcases into the back of a chauffeur-driven vehicle.

A Vietnamese official says Angelina Jolie’s adoption application is being processed quickly and she might be mom to a new 3½-year-old son within weeks. Jolie will be free to pick up the child any time after the approval is granted.
The boy is from the Tam Binh orphanage, which Jolie and Brad Pitt visited over Thanksgiving. Orphanage director Nguyen Van Trung says the boy Jolie plans to adopt was abandoned at a Ho Chi Minh City hospital as an infant and then taken to the orphanage, where the staff tried, without success, to locate his parents.
