Jack Williams Memorial Leadership Award
Friday, April 13, 2007
State Adjutant Jack Williams led the American Legion, Department of North Dakota, for 49 years prior to his death in 1967. His great love for the game of baseball was evident in his early efforts to establish American Legion Baseball as a youth citizenship-training program of The American Legion. Aware that proper adult leadership was an important ingredient of a successful program, Williams constantly encouraged qualified men to work in the program. To perpetuate Williams’ memory, The American Legion, Department of North Dakota, annually presents this award to the manager and coach of the National Championship Team as representatives of the adult leadership Williams stressed during his lifetime. Listed below are those adults who have received this award.
