Lions, Tigers, Bears…Oh Yes!
We all remember how excited you got when your school planned a field trip to the zoo, right? Well, the next destination I’m going to electronically take you to is like experiencing the zoo minus all the safety precautions. I’m talking about the exotic country of South Africa. I wish I could say that I’ve experienced this place first hand, but I haven’t been that fortunate. Luckily, I have a South African roommate that keeps me updated on all the wonderful aspects this country has to offer, plus a spare bedroom waiting for me for the summer of 2008!
The first thing that I suggest you do is go on a South African safari
. Nowhere else in the world could you witness a more entertaining show presented by nature itself. If you’re one for danger, I suggest you experience all the wilderness has to offer by going on a week long safari in which you sleep in a tent surrounded by elephants and lions, cook your own food everyday, and where showers aren’t permitted. If you’re more of a play-it-safe person, and that doesn’t sound too appealing to you, there are dozens of different safaris of which you can choose. For instance, the Kruger Safari in South Africa is only four days and you get to experience it from a comfortable lodge in Timbavati Private Game Reserve on the border of the Kruger National Park.
