Wear and tear
Most longboards suffer typical wear and tear after it has been used a lot. Damages are usually most noticable to the underside of the board, but the wheels and bearings are also susceptible to normal wear and tear. Riding over a crack or divot can tear the wheels up and riding in water can cause the bearings to rust. Cracks and divots are not uncommon in Stillwater. It seems that almost every road and sidewalk has grass and weeds growing out of giant cracks. Cracks not only tear up wheels, but also can cause severe injury to the rider. Having the board suddenly stop after hitting a crack will cause the rider to meet the concrete head on. This picture shows a crack that caused me to fall hard and embarrass myself in front of a large group of people.
