When the bridesmaid dresses were first chosen, we were told that they would take six weeks to come in and as long as we ordered six weeks before the wedding, we would be fine. I ended up going home in March to visit my family for spring break, and while I was there, I went with Christine and Emily so they could get sized at a David’s Bridal in NJ (hell).
Emily went first. I asked about the dress and they brought it out in her size, but a different color. It fit well and we were excited about it, but when we went to order, they said they couldn’t get it in until June. Further, only one size 2 existed in the entire coutry, and it was in Maryland. I called the Maryland store and after about nine years of sitting on hold, they told me they’d sold it already.
After that, we made Emily try on every dress in cornflower blue that would fit her, whether in junior bridesmaids or regular sizes. We drove 45 minutes to the next closest David’s Bridal to go through their selection also. Eventually she decided on a cute dress that doesn’t really match very well, but looks adorable on her.
The next day, I went with Christine to see if they had anything in her size. The only one they had in the correct color was 3 sizes too big, and nothing was available in the entire country in her size. We had to go up a size and order her dress over the phone from Yonkers (with 15$ shipping). It got to my house in OK before I got back from NY.
Now we just have to wait for the other dresses to come in from the OKC David’s Bridal…
David and Brad hung out in the lobby while we went crazy over dress after dress. It was pretty stressful. Thank god we had David there to make unfunny jokes about how we should “call it it’s real name! your brother’s bridal.”

Brad took a day off from work so we could get a list of things done. He hates my lists - he says they are scary. I love them, because when I cross everything off and look at the page again, I feel as if I have actually accomplished something. It is easier to relax that way.
List or no list, we knew we had to find a place to get our tuxes. We’d looked in Quail Springs Mall before, but nothing seemed right. This time, we tried Stillwater.
It wasn’t extremely eventful - it turns out they only rent one decent brown tux, the same one that Ben and Tosha used for their wedding last summer. All of the stores cost about the same price, so we decided to go through Lillian’s Bridal on Main, just a few blocks from our house.
We spoke with the woman there and she said that if we went through her, we wouldn’t have to worry about sizing and ordering until April, so that’s that for now.

We couldn’t find any invitations we liked in our price range, so we decided to make our own. I wanted something colorful and Tosha liked the foldable idea, so we came up with this prototype. The ribbon and flower (best parts) were Tosha’s idea.

When we chose Bennett Memorial Chapel for the ceremony, we made the decision to have the reception on campus as well - to be convenient. The only room we liked in the alumni center was booked, but we were able to find lots of good alternatives in the Student Union.
This way, people can park in the large lot behind the union and walk from one location to the next.
We are deciding between two rooms right now - I will try to get pictures as soon as possible.

Bennett Memorial Chapel is a small building on OSU’s campus, right beside the journalism building and student union. I had not noticed it before someone suggested it as a good place to hold a small wedding.
Brad is excited about the idea of an OSU wedding. I think Bennett Memorial Chapel is awesome, and the Union will make a great reception site. I drew the line at orange & black for wedding colors, though.

OSU’s page on the chapel is here: Click

We went and found dresses in the perfect color - cornflower blue. It took less than 20 minutes for Kristi, Kalie and Tosha to decide that they all wanted to wear the same dress and find one they could agree on.
Here is a picture of the dress, borrowed from David’s Bridal:

I (as in Lisa) am taking JB 3623 - “Internet Communications” this semester and as part of the class, we have to make a blog. I can’t say I would have made a wedding web site otherwise, but when given the choice, I couldn’t think of anything I’d want to write about more. There are people from all over the place coming down for our wedding, and I hope this is a way to keep everyone involved.
