Viña Del Mar

Viña del Mar

Viña is best known as a tourist city where travelers can spend hours on the beaches, shop in Calle Valpariso or enjoy the yearly Viña del Mar International Song Festival. Along the coastal road travelers can walk from beach to beach, eat freshly caught seafood or relax and watch the sunset. Many of these beaches are surf spots and there are shops all around town where travelers can rent a surf board and wet suit. The Pacific water is too cold for sharks in this region but the greatest threat are the under currents. Viña is also known for it’s casino that attracts many visitors. Shopping in Chile can be just as or more expensive than shops in the United States. The best kept secret is the Artesenia, where local vendors set up booths for travelers to buy souvenirs and unique jewlery.
