Transportation

Once you leave the Santiago airport you will find what seems like a hundred eager taxi drivers ready to take you anywhere you wish. If you want to take a different route there will be buses(Micros) that can take you to your destination. Once in the capital or any city it is very easy to get around in the micros. Hitch hiking is not recommended but along the coast it is not uncommon to see a group of teenagers trying to get a ride to the next beach. Chilean drivers seem to make up their own rules while on the road so unless you are very comfortable with fast traffic stick to taxi drivers or buses.
