If along the coast one of the most relaxing and captivating thing to do is watching the sunset over the Pacific Ocean. In Vina Del Mar they have parks along the coast so anyone can enjoy the view. It is also fun to watch the sea lions play in the water or sun bathe on the rocks near by.

Surfer Pablo passionately talking about the waves.

Surfing is not the easiest sport to pick up but in Chile there are plenty of great surf beaches to learn. The water temperature usually stays between 50 and 60 degrees so a wet suit is recommended. In the north near the Atacama desert the waves are smaller but forceful. The Central Region of Chile has bigger waves and the water is cooler.
If in the North Region some places to surf are in Arica, Iquique, Antofagasta, La Serena and Pichidangi.
If in the Central Region some places to surf are Renaca, Pichilemu and Quintay.
In the Southern Region Lebu is a good surf spot.

And don’t worry if surfing is not your thing there is always body boarding.
