Before heading to Chile it will be useful to learn some of the slang that you may hear.
Some chilean slang words are…
Huevón- an idiot but similar meaning to ‘dude’
Cachi- Do you understand?
Bacán- Cool
Pololo(a)- boyfriend/ girlfriend

Also, when speaking with a Chilean, listen to how many times they add the word po to the end of a sentence. It is used in place of the word pues which means then but Chileans tend to over-use it and place these two letters at the end of any sentence.
