There are different documents that you will be required to procure during the application process. Depending on whether this is your first passport, you are applying for a renewal or have lost your previous passport, you may be asked to have ready forms of identification, birth certificates, social security and/or green cards.
To obtain a tourist visa you will must purchase one at the airport once you arrive in Chile. As a U.S. citizen you can stay in Chile up to 90 days with a tourist card but for a small fee you can make an extension for an additional 90 days.
