Another try
So, I gave up on Weezer after the Maladroit album, but Pandora showed me there is still a shimmer of hope.
Back in 2002, I saw my first Weezer concert at Blossom Amphitheater in Cleveland, Ohio. My aunt, who is only 10 years older than I am took me. I was in love with the band, it was my first concert and they played nearly every song on my favorite Weezer album, Pinkerton.
But, over the years, Weezer got too mainstream for my taste. They released Make Believe in 2005 and the first single was crap, “Beverly Hills.”
Its sounds a bit like a Britney Spears song mashed with Good Charlotte, in a bad way. I refused to listen to the album.
But, once I became the Pandora junkie I am, I found the song “This is Such a Pity.” It reminds me of a song from the band’s Green album, which is good. I hear they created all the keyboard parts on the song with a $75 Casio keyboard. I hope this rumor is true.
So, once more, I have hope for the band I yearned to see in concert as a kid. And, the video features my favorite alien from the ’80s.
