NEW ALBUM! And from what I hear, early 2009. This is exciting. Gwen says it is the band’s “most inspired” album yet. I certainly hope so.

I have been a Gavin fan for quite a long time. Bush was a great band of my youth and I was quite addicted not only to his lyrics but also his to-die-for British accent. I mean, his wifey, Gwen Stefani, better watch out. ![]()

So when I made my station, the original band I used as a seed was No Doubt. The results were devastating. Who knew Alanis Morrisette and Rihanna were similar to No Doubt? I didn’t, probably because those bands sound nothing like the band.

So I discovered The Kaiser Chiefs on Pandora way before their song “Ruby” earned a spot on Guitar Hero III. I liked the song and allowed my station to play more by the band.

So I took my boyfriend’s advice and added the Modern Skirts to my station. At first, I did not like the band. But I listened to its song, “My Last Soprano,” and gave them a try because the song had musical depth: piano, good lyrics and a sound that challenged popular music while still reminiscent of Ben Folds. If someone reminds me of more modern Ben Folds, chances are I will give them a try.
