A View to A Kill (1985)

Overall Rank- 21st

Why is this my least favorite Bond film overall? It is hard to say. There are aspects of the film that are acceptable, but overall, it seemed about as bad of an effort as Sean Connery’s Never Say Never Again.

To begin, Roger Moore was much too old to still be portraying Bond. His age is showing throughout the film, and the action scenes are cut back to account for his lower stamina.

Bond girls in this film are some of the least appealing. Jenny Flex and Mayday, while fairly attractive, do not contribute much to the overall plot and at times feel unnecessary.

The only redeeming quality I find in this film is the choice of Christopher Walken to play Max Zorin. Walken has shown in many films that he is a very versatile actor, capable of taking on both good and evil roles. As a villain, he does wonders in the film.

The overall concept, age of Roger Moore and less than stellar leading ladies make this a Bond film to pass on. Of course everything is based on how I personally feel as I recall the movie at this time. Occasionally upon multiple viewings I find some more redeemable qualities. But for now, this remains my least favorite Bond film overall.
