Goldeneye (1995)

Overall Rank- 1st

My first James Bond experience was with the video game made from this movie. Though I was born in the year that A View to a Kill came out, this was the first Bond film I saw. From the opening sequence to the end credits, I was hooked. This was by far the best Pierce Brosnan ever did as Bond. The villains were excellent, the women were beautiful and the action was amazing.

The tank chase through St. Petersberg is a classic action sequence in film history. While Bond did begin to feel like more of an action hero than an actual man with Pierce Brosnan, it did not bother me during this film. The watch that has a laser and detonates mines was a classic gadget (and fun to use in the video game).

I find myself at a loss for words to describe how much I enjoy this film. It is also the Bond movie I have seen the most times. Many Bond fans from the Sean Connery era would likely dispute my claim that this is the best Bond film, but if they take a look at the film as a combination of women, villains, action, gadgets and Pierce Brosnan’s best turn as James Bond, they would have to agree it’s very enjoyable.
